Homefield Park, Impington

the gates at Homefield Park

The gates reflect the history of the site as market garden – part of the Chivers entreprises during the victorian and early 19th century. The key feature of the gates is functionality; they must allow pedestrian access 24 hours a day, including mobility scooters, but prevent vehicular access. The gates must open to the full extent to allow regular access for maintenance vehicles and the travelling circus.

The gates are an elegant solution to the functionality required and mark the park as an important feature. The high status has increased the use of the park and improved the appearance of the main thoroughfare.
