Following along from summer term workshops at Queen Emma’s and Edith’s colleges, David Mackie has been developing designs for the public art for this project. Mackie is almost at the stage of producing a collection of final artworks and agreeing locations for the development at Newbury Farm. The part of the site Eddeva park will be added next year. The artworks will form a coherent series across the two parts of the site.

The images above are closely related to some of the illustrations created by the pupils, under the close tutelage of David Mackie and Becky Adams.
David and Becky also accompanied a small group of colleagues and neighbours of the site on a walk around the woodland to hear stories of the area and to see the biodiversity of the chalk.

Consultation: David Mackie appointed following public consultation.
Delighted to be working with This Land and Cambridge Investment Partnership on the new development located between Worts’ Causeway and Babraham Road on the outskirts of Cambridge. The first part of the consultation is on which artist to appoint. Residents and neighbours came along to Nightingale Pavilion and St. James Church and gave their feedback on examples of artists work, and what they would like to see included in the new development. The shortlisted artists were interviewed following the consultation and David Mackie was appointed; it was an unanimous decision from both the community and the stakeholders on the interview panel.
